Hi all! We are Jamie and Nicole. We used to live in SEQ, working a typical 9-5, but decided that that wasn't for us. So we fixed our vintage Toyotas, sold the house, quit our jobs and bought a boat (we know nothing about boats!). Oh, I nearly forgot... Then we bought a house 1600kms away... In Far North Queensland. What do you do in near 40 degree weather? We decided to spend the day exploring our back yard in Cardwell State Forest attempting to find all the secret swimming holes!
Last week we got to tick off an item from our bucket list - exploring Hinchinbrook Island and swimming at Zoe Falls! Visiting this prehistoric island is a must do!
This week, for better or worse, we braved the Cassowary Coast heatwave and hiked to the bottom of the highest(268m), permanent, single-drop waterfall in Australia!
This week, we set off in "Snoop", our vintage Landcruiser Troop carrier, for an overnight camping adventure at Blencoe falls on the Kirrama range. Things didn't go to plan, and we soon found ourselves stranded with no phone reception and no way home...
This week, we took "Snoop" the Troopy to for an overnight camping trip to South Mission Beach. We were greeted at our campsite by a local cassowary and did the Kennedy Walking Track to Turtle bay - a must do, if you are in the area!
This week, we found ourselves in the tablelands where we ventured to the amazing 'Innot Hot Springs' and took a drive down 'The Millaa Millaa Waterfall Circuit'
This week we decided to go for a 'back to basics' adventure ditching our beloved Troopy for the Hilux and a swag! We ventured into Abergowrie State Forest were we rode through the endangered riparian rainforest, checked out the huge old Broadwater fig, went for a swim in the Broadwater creek and saw our first Bullrout!
This week we decided to do something a little different and see more of Far North Queensland on our mountain bikes. We loaded up our bikes and headed into Tully Falls National Park finally reaching Cochable Creek Campground. We may have underestimated the ride in, but it was definitely worth it! This will be the first of many 'Bikepacking' adventures!
This week we headed south to "Crystal Creek Huts & Camping". We packed the swag and our pups and set off for a night beneath the stars on the beach. The amazing sunrise and set did not disappoint.
This week we jumped back in our trusty troopy 'Snoop' and went adventuring through the Far North Queensland Tablelands! We stopped in at Yungaburra then took off to Atherton before getting lost in the fire trails at the back of Herberton, where we discovered one of the many breath-taking waterfalls this region has to offer.
This week we filmed an in-depth walkaround of our 1991 Landcruiser Troopy. After owning it for a year we undertook a massive overhaul and completely gutted it and built the troopy of our dreams.
This week we got out of our comfort zone and challenged ourselves to an overnight hike through Dalrymple creek walking track. It was definitely a challenge with hordes of mosquitos and rugged terrain but we are so glad we did it.
This week we explored both Little and Big Crystal Creeks in our trusty Troopy - Snoop! Have a watch and see why we highly recommend visiting these places in Far North Queensland!
This week we ventured to Jourama Falls, located 7 minutes off the Bruce Highway it's a must stop destination on your way to Cape York.
